Cultural traditions and spirituality were very important to Ukrainian immigrants. Though it often took many years, building a church in the community was a high priority for pioneers. Here they would gather for church services and celebrations. St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox church was built in Vegreville, AB and was moved to the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village in 1983.
